    The Department of Energy proposes to modify Building 9731 located at the Y-12 National Security Complex (Y-12) back to its original use as a training facility. Building 9731 was the first production building completed at the Y-12 site, and the first building to house the special equipment used for the electromagnetic separation process that enriched uranium used in the first atomic bomb. Implementation of the undertaking will reduce risk to workers and the public from potential exposure to hazardous material, allow for outdated systems to be replaced (i.e.

    The Carl Levin and Howard P. “Buck” McKeon National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015 directed the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to provide public access to the summit of Rattlesnake Mountain on the Hanford Reach National Monument. Rattlesnake Mountain is a Traditional Cultural Property, known as Laliik, to the federally recognized Indian tribes in the surrounding area.

  4. Illinois

    The Federal Highway Administration, (FHWA), in cooperation with Illinois Department of Transportation, is proposing the O'Hare Express Service Project, an approximately 17.8-mile high-speed, subterranean, express service connecting O'Hare International Airport and the City of Chicago Central Business District. A phased approach for the project is necessary because the majority of the project will be underground and there will be several locations that require above ground disturbance.

  5. Texas
    The United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) intends to continue to improve capabilities or functionality of Rio Grande flood control projects (FCP) located along segments of the Texas-Mexico border from El Paso to Brownsville, to provide flood protection, to create boundary stabilization, and to ensure water delivery. The FCPs include the Rio Grande Canalization Project (15 miles in Texas), Rio Grande Rectification Project (RGRP), the Presidio-Ojinaga FCP, and the Lower Rio Grande FCP.
  6. Oregon

    The Forest Service, Pacific Northwest Region, proposes to develop a Programmatic Agreement for Section 106 compliance in accordance with 36 CFR § 800.14(b)(2) in order to take into account effects to historic properties within the National Forests within the State of Oregon.

  7. New Mexico

    Fort Wingate Depot Activity (FWDA) is responsible for implementation of applicable provisions of the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1988 and is proceeding with the closure of FWDA. Disposal of the property is occurring by parcel upon the completion of environmental cleanup activities prior to transfer to the Department of Interior. Previous agreements did not address effects to the built environment. All of the above ground buildings and structures at FWDA have been under reduced maintenance since its closure in 1993.

  8. Oklahoma

    U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Sill is proposing to develop a Programmatic Agreement to codify in an agreement document certain steps of Fort Sill's current process, thereby reducing the requirement for repetitious requests to the State Historic Preservation Office in initiating the process in accordance with 36 CFR § 800.14(b)(2).

  9. New Mexico
    The Cibola National Forest has received a proposed Plan of Operation by Roca Honda Resources LLC to develop an underground uranium mine on and near Jesus Mesa, on the northwest side of Mt. Taylor in accordance with 36 CFR § 228.4. This Plan describes the type and method of mining and engineering techniques that will be utilized at the Roca Honda mine to meet the performance and reclamation standards and requirements of the New Mexico Administrative Code for new non-coal mining operations.
  10. Washington

    Navy Region Northwest is proposing to develop a Programmatic Agreement for Section 106 compliance, in accordance with 36 CFR § 800.14(b)(2), in order to take into account effects to historic properties at Naval Station Everett and its special areas (Navy Family Support Complex Smokey Point, Pacific Beach Annex, Naval Radio Station Transmitter Jim Creek, and Navy Operational Support Center Spokane).
