  1. California
    The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 9, proposes to develop a Programmatic Agreement for Section 106 compliance in accordance with 36 CFR § 800.14(b)(2) in order to take into account effects to historic properties regarding the Clean Water (CW) State Revolving Fund (SRF) Program for the State of California, with the following objectives: 1) designate the State Water Board as the lead agency for complying with Section 106; 2) establish a review process specific to the California SRF program; and 3) authorize the State Water Board to make findings of "no historic properties affected
  2. Washington

    On July 12, 2020, a small, two-seat, experimental airplane made an emergency landing on the Rattlesnake Unit of the Hanford Reach National Monument (HRNM), which is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). USFWS proposes to extract the plane by lifting it by hand and placing it on a small, three-wheeled metal cart. The rubber-tired cart will then be attached to a two-mile long cable and winched downslope to the 1200-foot road.

  3. California

    Naval Base Coronado is proposing to develop a Programmatic Agreement for Section 106 compliance in accordance with 36 CFR § 800.14(b)(2) in order to take into account effects to historic properties for undertakings on San Clemente Island. This agreement will support current, emerging, and future training and Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation operations, while enhancing training resources through investment on established ranges. 

  4. Oregon

    The Federal Highway Administration is proposing to replace the 1986 Memorandum of Agreement Between the Federal Highway Administration, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and the Oregon State Historic Preservation Officer for the Alsea Bay Bridge Replacement Project, U.S. Highway #101, Lincoln County, Oregon. An interpretive center was erected as mitigation for the 1991 demolition of the Conde McCullough Bridge over the Alsea River. Since then, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) has managed and maintained the building.

  5. District of Columbia

    In 2014, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) began a master planning effort for the 11.8-acre Observatory Hill site, which consists of Navy Hill on the east and Potomac Hill on the west. GSA's consultation on their master planning effort has been on hold for the last year or so.

  6. New York
    The Montrose Veterans Affairs Medical Center, also known as the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Hospital, part of the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, proposes to demolish Buildings 8, 9, 10, 11, and 25 in order to develop and construct six new small house style community living centers to include walkways and garden improvements.
  7. Idaho

    The Bosie National Forest and the Payette National Forest have received a permit application from Midas Gold to redevelop portions of the Stibnite-Yellow Pine Mining District for a 20-year open pit mining and ore processing operation to develop and produce gold, silver, and antimony. This includes construction activities, mining and ore processing activities with concurrent reclamation, and final reclamation and closure. This permit will also require a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in accordance with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 USC 1344).

  8. Washington
    Olympic National Park is developing a long term plan for the Enchanted Valley Chalet. Increased channel migration along the East Fork Quinault River, beginning around 2003, lead to the river moving within a few feet of the chalet in early 2014 and by spring of that year the river had undercut the building. In response, Olympic National Park temporarily relocated the Chalet 50-100 feet from the actively eroding river bank in 2014 until a long term plan could be developed.
  9. Washington

    In 2019, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) received funding to re-seed a portion of land affected by the L Road Fire, located in the Saddle Mountain Unit of Hanford Reach National Monument in Grant County, WA. A 2011-acre area was selected for re-seeding using the drill seed method. Equipment used for this effort was a rubber tracked tractor pulling a drill seeder. On February 4, 2019, the drill seeder operator unintentionally entered the boundaries of site #45GR318, damaging a portion of the site’s stratigraphic context.

  10. Tennessee
    The Department of Energy, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, is proposing to revise its Historic Preservation Plan and develop a new Programmatic Agreement (PA), in accordance with 36 CFR § 800.14(b)(3). The existing PA, "The Programmatic Agreement Among the Department of Energy Oak Ridge Operations Office, the Tennessee State Historic Preservation Office, and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Concerning the Management of Historical and Cultural Properties at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory," was originally executed in 2005.
