  1. Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Buffalo, Chicago and Detroit Districts propose to develop a Programmatic Agreement for Section 106 compliance in accordance with 36 CFR § 800.14(b)(2) in order to take into account effects to historic properties within the Great Lakes Navigation System (GLNS). The GLNS is a complex system of breakwaters, navigation channels, and other structures throughout the Great Lakes which allows for the transportation of goods throughout the region and is vital to the nation’s economy.

  2. District of Columbia
    The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has proposed to the National Park Service (NPS) that WMATA remove a trolley trestle within the Glover Archbold Park section of Rock Creek Park. An assessment conducted in 2016 concluded that the trestle was in poor condition and in a state of deterioration that significantly affected its structural stability. In order to maintain the safety of park visitors and the sewer and storm water drain beneath the trestle, WMATA fenced off the structure in 2018. The removal may include the trestle's associated abutments.
  3. Hawaii
    The U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii is proposing to modernize the Pilila'au Army Recreation Center (PARC) on the Island of O'ahu, Hawaii. The proposed undertaking involves multiple related modernization projects, to occur in phases over several years, including rehabilitation of the current yard, construction of restrooms, installation of perimeter fencing, installation of an irrigation system, and general landscaping, and may be expanded to include operations, maintenance, and other activities, as determined in consultation.
  4. North Carolina, Virginia

    The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is reviewing an application from Avangrid for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Coastal Virginnia Offshore Wind South Project (Project), formerly known as the Kitty Hawk Wind Project, an offshore wind farm to be located approximately 27 statute miles (23.75 nautical miles) east of Corolla, North Carolina. The majority of the Project would be located in federal waters in the designated BOEM Renewable Energy Lease Area OCS-A 0508.

    The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 9, proposes to develop a Programmatic Agreement for Section 106 compliance in accordance with 36 CFR § 800.14(b)(2) in order to take into account effects to historic properties regarding the Clean Water (CW) State Revolving Fund (SRF) Program for the State of California, with the following objectives: 1) designate the State Water Board as the lead agency for complying with Section 106; 2) establish a review process specific to the California SRF program; and 3) authorize the State Water Board to make findings of "no historic properties affected
  6. Washington

    On July 12, 2020, a small, two-seat, experimental airplane made an emergency landing on the Rattlesnake Unit of the Hanford Reach National Monument (HRNM), which is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). USFWS proposes to extract the plane by lifting it by hand and placing it on a small, three-wheeled metal cart. The rubber-tired cart will then be attached to a two-mile long cable and winched downslope to the 1200-foot road.

  7. Oregon

    The Federal Highway Administration is proposing to replace the 1986 Memorandum of Agreement Between the Federal Highway Administration, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and the Oregon State Historic Preservation Officer for the Alsea Bay Bridge Replacement Project, U.S. Highway #101, Lincoln County, Oregon. An interpretive center was erected as mitigation for the 1991 demolition of the Conde McCullough Bridge over the Alsea River. Since then, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) has managed and maintained the building.

  8. New York
    The Montrose Veterans Affairs Medical Center, also known as the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Hospital, part of the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, proposes to demolish Buildings 8, 9, 10, 11, and 25 in order to develop and construct six new small house style community living centers to include walkways and garden improvements.
  9. Washington
    Olympic National Park is developing a long term plan for the Enchanted Valley Chalet. Increased channel migration along the East Fork Quinault River, beginning around 2003, lead to the river moving within a few feet of the chalet in early 2014 and by spring of that year the river had undercut the building. In response, Olympic National Park temporarily relocated the Chalet 50-100 feet from the actively eroding river bank in 2014 until a long term plan could be developed.
  10. Washington

    In 2019, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) received funding to re-seed a portion of land affected by the L Road Fire, located in the Saddle Mountain Unit of Hanford Reach National Monument in Grant County, WA. A 2011-acre area was selected for re-seeding using the drill seed method. Equipment used for this effort was a rubber tracked tractor pulling a drill seeder. On February 4, 2019, the drill seeder operator unintentionally entered the boundaries of site #45GR318, damaging a portion of the site’s stratigraphic context.
