The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Kansas City District is partnering with the states of Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri on the Lower Missouri River Flood Risk and Resiliency Study. The study was authorized under Section 216 of the Water Resources Development Act of 2020 that will develop systematic measures to reduce recurring flood damages and improve resiliency of infrastructure and investment to withstand future flood events. These activities will occur within the Kansas City District within Missouri and Kansas. In July 2024, the Crops informed consulting parties that the portion of this undertaking occurring within the Ohama District, which includes activities in Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa, would be covered under a separate PA.
