Federal Mining Working Group Issues Report Re: EV

Prompted by the rapid transitioning to carbon pollution-free electricity development, an Interagency Working Group on Mining Laws, Regulations, and Permitting (IWG) recently released a report with a set of recommendations designed to increase the production of materials, like nickel and lithium, necessary for the production of electric vehicles.

ACHP Seeks Comments on Housing Policy Statement

The ACHP is developing a policy statement on housing and historic preservation to provide expert advice to a wide range of stakeholders on the role that historic preservation can play in alleviating the housing crisis. A draft of the policy statement is now available for public comment.

Jaime Loichinger Appointed ACHP OFAP Director

Jaime Loichinger of Baltimore Maryland, has been appointed director of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) Office of Federal Agency Programs (OFAP). On March 6, 2023, former OFAP Director Reid Nelson was promoted to the position of ACHP executive director.
