On July 8, 2020, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) terminated consultation under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), 54 USC 306108, regarding the Shell Energy North America (US) (Shell) Hydro Battery Pearl Hill Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Project (Pearl Hill), FERC Project No. 14795-002, in Douglas County, Washington. The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) is required to issue comments to the head of the federal agency within 45 days of a termination. In order to assist us in preparing these comments, the ACHP is requesting stakeholder and public comment on the effects of the project on historic properties.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald J. Trump designated Rick Gonzalez of Palm Beach, Florida, as the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) vice chairman. Gonzalez was appointed as an ACHP expert member by the President earlier this year with a term ending in June 2023.

On April 3, 2020, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation issued a blanket extension regarding the review under 36 CFR 800.12 of undertakings responding to COVID-19 emergency and disaster declarations. The extension was set to expire on July 31, 2020. Considering the likelihood of such declarations remaining in place into the foreseeable near future, and the ongoing need for federal agency responses to them, that extension is now set to expire on September 30, 2020.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald J. Trump recently announced his intent to appoint Connecticut State Representative John H. Frey to be a member of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP). 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) Chairman Aimee Jorjani today welcomed new Expert Member Rick Gonzalez, swearing him into a term ending in June 2023. President Donald J. Trump appointed Gonzalez to the ACHP.

“We look forward to utilizing Rick’s expertise as the ACHP enhances opportunities for minority architects and incorporates a preservation ethic for those in the architecture and building fields,” Chairman Jorjani said. “Rick has a lot to contribute to the national historic preservation conversation, through his many efforts within Florida and the local preservation community. We have already enlisted his help in the Traditional Trades Training Task Force we recently launched.”
