Luke Nichter, host of Preservation Perspectives, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's podcast, recently spoke with Jaime Loichinger, ACHP Office of Federal Agency Programs Assistant Director. At the ACHP's October business meeting, members approved the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Exemption, which allows federal agencies installing such equipment to forgo the Section 106 review process under certain conditions. The exemption was enacted to streamline the Biden administration's efforts to electrify the federal vehicle fleet. Loichinger talks about the exemption, what it does, and the consultation process that led to the passage of the exemption.

Washington, D.C.--The Pullman National Monument and State Historic Site in Chicago, Illinois, was honored with the National Trust/Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Award for Federal Partnerships in Historic Preservation during the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s annual PastForward Conference National Preservation Awards on November 4.

The ACHP is seeking a Digital Operations Coordinator (GG-13) within the Office of Federal Agency Programs in Washington, DC. This new position will analyze and manage data regarding the ACHP’s participation in and oversight of project planning reviews carried out under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The incumbent will draw on knowledge of the Section 106 process and experience working with databases and other digital tools to help improve the ACHP's use of electronic communication and digital information to enhance the timeliness and efficiency of reviews.
