This week, as part of the ACHP’s commitment to raise awareness of historic places, the agency is celebrating the five national monuments President Joe Biden has designated since taking office. Today, the feature is his fourth designation, the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument in Mississippi and Illinois.

WASHINGTON, D.C. Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) Chair Sara C. Bronin today administered the oath of office to three new ACHP members: Governor Member John Carney of Delaware and Expert Members Frank G. Matero of Delaware and Charles L. Ward III of California. President Joe Biden appointed Carney to a term ending June 2025 and Matero and Ward to terms ending June 2027.

Members of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation met July 12 in Washington, D.C., for their summer business meeting. The proceedings were broadcast on Facebook Live and are available on the ACHP's YouTube channel here

Chair Sara Bronin welcomed the newest ACHP member: the Council on Environmental Quality, which replaced the Department of Education as a voting member on the ACHP.
