    To coincide with the 40th Anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the ACHP developed a newspaper insert that focuses on the importance of historic preservation and the historic preservation infrastructure that was created by the NHPA. The insert was developed in partnership with the History Channel and the Newspaper In Education Institute. It first appeared in the Washington Times.

    The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is reporting its progress on identifying, protecting, and using historic properties to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) and Secretary of the Interior (SOI) for the period October 1, 2020, to September 30, 2023, pursuant to Section 3 of Executive Order (EO) 13287 – Preserve America.
  10. Report
    Mrs. Laura Bush, honorary chair of the Preserve America initiative, led a national Preserve America Summit October 18-20, 2006, in New Orleans, Louisiana, marking the 40th anniversary of the passage of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation was a partner and served as Summit coordinator. In August 2007, the ACHP issued recommendations based on the issues raised at the Summit.
