Programmatic Agreement for Section 106 Compliance by the Kentucky Army National Guard (KY)
Case Details
The Kentucky Army National Guard, in conjunction with the National Guard Bureau/Army National Guard, proposes to develop a programmatic agreement for operations, maintenance, development and training, in accordance with 36 CFR § 800.14(b)(2). The goals of the proposed PA include streamlining the Section 106 review process with the SHPO by exempting routine and minor undertakings from full SHPO consultation, which will streamline the Section 106 review process in order to allow the KYARNG and SHPO to focus on major undertakings involving designated historic properties, thus making the process more efficient and effective. It is anticipated that the proposed PA will strengthen the relationship between the KYARNG and the Kentucky SHPO. The KY ARNG has a state and federal mission, which includes military training and related activities on properties located throughout the state. Specific installations and properties covered under the proposed Agreement are currently unknown, but this information will be discussed during consultation..
