In 2021, the Programmatic Agreement Among the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, Allegheny National Forest, Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Officer and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Regarding the Process for Compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act for Undertakings on the Allegheny National Forest of the Eastern Region of the U.S.D.A. Forest Service was executed. In accordance with XIII.B., the Allegheny National Forest is proposing an amendment to clarify roles between the Heritage Professional and Agency Official and improve Tribal consultation processes.
