Anne Arundel and Queen Anne's Counties
The Federal Highway Administration and Maryland Transportation Authority are conducting the Chesapeake Bay Crossing Study to assess the potential environmental impacts of addressing congestion at the Gov. William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial Bridge, more commonly known as the Chesapeake Bay Bridge or Bay Bridge, which could result in added capacity at the existing bridge or at a new crossing location across the Chesapeake Bay. The study will include a review of existing roadway infrastructure and environmental conditions along both shores of the Chesapeake Bay to identify potential crossing corridors in Maryland. This study is part of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act.
