Acquisition and Demolition of Two Properties in the Hill Crest Conservation District (TX)
Case Details
The Federal Emergency Management Agency, Region 6, proposes to provide assistance with funds from the Flood Mitigation Assistance Program authorized by Section 1366 of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968, as amended, to the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) in order that the TWDB may provide funding to the City of Fort Worth (City) for the acquisition and demolition of two privately-owned residential buildings with the goal of reducing or eliminating claims under the National Flood Insurance Program.
Residential buildings already located in a zone where waters congregate are considered an ideal location for creation of wetland runoff pools. This detention pond project requires demolition of 10 residential buildings. The City is funding demolition for eight of the residential buildings.
