The Cibola National Forest has received a proposed Plan of Operation by Roca Honda Resources LLC to develop an underground uranium mine on and near Jesus Mesa, on the northwest side of Mt. Taylor in accordance with 36 CFR § 228.4. This Plan describes the type and method of mining and engineering techniques that will be utilized at the Roca Honda mine to meet the performance and reclamation standards and requirements of the New Mexico Administrative Code for new non-coal mining operations. The Plan contains the required general sequence to be followed in constructing and operating the mine, maps and drawings of the facilities, and an approximate time table for the activities.
