Robert Simison has served the residents of Meridian as its 26th Mayor since 2020 and is focused on ensuring Meridian remains a safe community built around families. improving transportation and delivering premier services to the public. Using common-sense leadership, Meridian has expanded parks and built new fire stations, while investing in our police force and transportation network.

Under Mayor Simison’s leadership, the Meridian Police Department has implemented a Crisis Intervention Team, added School Resource Officers in elementary schools, and expanded focus on drug prevention efforts. Additionally, Mayor Simison has championed the opening of two additional fire stations and increased firefighters to ensure an effective response force for the community.

Mayor Robert Simison is a native of Pocatello, Idaho and a graduate of Whitman College. He currently services as President of the Association of Idaho Cities and is a member of the Idaho Advisory Committee for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and previously was a Presidential appointee to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation from 2020-2023.
