This course was prepared for the Forest Service by the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) to provide Forest Service staff an overview of the Forest Service nationwide programmatic agreement (Phasing NPA). Relevant Forest Service Agency Officials, Project Planners, and Heritage Professionals are required to complete this course to apply the Phasing NPA. Participants will learn the requirements and benefits of the Phasing NPA; FS staff roles and responsibilities under the Phasing NPA; and how to apply the concepts in real-world scenarios. Any consulting party can use this course to learn what the Forest Service expects of its staff in Section 106 reviews under the agreement. The pre-requisite course, Introduction to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act for Forest Service Staff, is required.
