To commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month, ACHP intern Jonathan Angulo produced a video about preserving Latina/o Historic sites. The video talks about what is being done right now by preservationists, the challenges they are facing, and the importance of preservation as a way of telling the full American story.

Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Vice Chairman Jordan Tannenbaum signed the historic Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Native Languages on September 28, 2022, at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. Reno Franklin, the ACHP’s Indian Tribe and Native Hawaiian Member, and Ira L. Matt, the ACHP’s Director of the Office of Native American Affairs, witnessed the signing.

The public review period is now open on the proposed Army Program Comment for Vietnam War Era Historic Housing, Associated Buildings and Structures, and Landscape Features. The text of the proposed Program Comment, along with information on how to provide comments, can be accessed through ACHP’s Army Program Comment Website.

ACHP Director of the Office of Native American Affairs Ira Matt recently was the guest on Nakita Reed’s Tangible Remnants podcast. The podcast is “for lovers of existing buildings who want to learn from the past to shape a better future.” Nakita is a sustainable preservation architect.
