The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation met for its spring business meeting via Zoom on April 15, 2021. The recorded proceedings are available at this link.

Highlights of the business meeting include discussions on the action plans for implementing the recommendations in the recently published Report to the President on federal agency stewardship of their historic properties and the final report of the ACHP's Working Group on Leveraging Federal Historic Buildings. Both documents offer concrete action items the ACHP and its partners inside and outside the government can take to expand the use and care of federal properties.

Members also voiced their support for the ACHP providing advice to Congress and the Administration in due time on the Save Oak Flat Act. They also heard about the Presidential Memorandum on Tribal Consultation, in which the ACHP has long been a leader in consultation efforts. The agency also will be undertaking several new outreach campaigns next month for Historic Preservation Month, including a call via social media for the public to share stories about their favorite historic sites across the U.S.
