Luke Nichter, host of Preservation Perspectives, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's podcast, recently spoke with Jaime Loichinger, ACHP Office of Federal Agency Programs Assistant Director. At the ACHP's October business meeting, members approved the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Exemption, which allows federal agencies installing such equipment to forgo the Section 106 review process under certain conditions. The exemption was enacted to streamline the Biden administration's efforts to electrify the federal vehicle fleet. Loichinger talks about the exemption, what it does, and the consultation process that led to the passage of the exemption.

In the summer of 2022, the ACHP partnered with USDA Forest Service and the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges and Universities to bring anthropology students from HBCUs into the forest, and introduce them to careers in the Forest Service Heritage program.
