The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) today announced it is now recruiting for the position of Equity Officer in Washington, DC.

The ACHP is now recruiting for the position of Assistant Historic Preservation Specialist (AHPS) within the ACHP’s Office of Federal Agency Programs (OFAP), located in Washington, DC. OFAP plays a key role in meeting the ACHP’s mission to advise the President and Congress on historic preservation matters, and oversees the Section 106 review process. 

The AHPS will be located within OFAP’s Federal Permitting, Licensing and Assistance Section and will have the primary responsibility of reviewing adverse effect notifications from federal agencies. Other responsibilities include providing technical advice and assistance to consulting parties and participating in consultation meetings. The closing date for applications is March 7, 2023.

The ACHP is seeking a Digital Operations Coordinator (GG-13) within the Office of Federal Agency Programs in Washington, DC. This new position will analyze and manage data regarding the ACHP’s participation in and oversight of project planning reviews carried out under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The incumbent will draw on knowledge of the Section 106 process and experience working with databases and other digital tools to help improve the ACHP's use of electronic communication and digital information to enhance the timeliness and efficiency of reviews.

The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is now recruiting for the position of Executive Director, located in Washington, DC.

While the position is in the Senior Executive Service (SES), applicants need not be in the SES currently. It is open to the public as well as other federal employees. The primary duties of the position are to oversee the day-to-day operations of the ACHP, supervise its professional staff, and provide support to the ACHP chairman and membership.
