WASHINGTON, D.C. Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) Chair Sara C. Bronin today administered the oath of office to three new ACHP members: Governor Member John Carney of Delaware and Expert Members Frank G. Matero of Delaware and Charles L. Ward III of California. President Joe Biden appointed Carney to a term ending June 2025 and Matero and Ward to terms ending June 2027.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – ACHP Chair Sara Bronin today announced that the White House has appointed the Chair of the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) as a member of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP). 

“Historic preservation can improve our climate change response, reduce waste, and foster transportation-efficient communities,” Chair Bronin said. “At the same time, preservation can help us achieve our environmental justice goals, as we protect and adapt places underrepresented people hold dear. The ACHP welcomes the deeper engagement and partnership with the Council on Environmental Quality on these issues, now that it has become a member.”

Jordan-Cox, Expert Member Monica Rhodes, and Mayor Member Randall L. Woodfin. President Joe Biden appointed Jordan-Cox and Rhodes to terms ending June 2026 and Woodfin to a term ending June 2025.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Joe Biden has designated Jordan Tannenbaum as the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) vice chairman. The President also appointed Tannenbaum to a second term, ending in June 2025. Tannenbaum, of Fairfax, VA, was appointed as a general public ACHP member by President Barack Obama in 2016.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) Chairman Aimee Jorjani today administered the oath of office to Luke A. Nichter, PhD, of Bowling Green, OH, swearing him in as an expert member to a term ending in June 2022. President Donald J. Trump appointed Nichter to the ACHP.

“The ACHP is honored President Trump appointed accomplished historian, author, and educator Luke Nichter to the ACHP,” Chairman Jorjani said. “Dr. Nichter has much to offer as an expert member. With his level of expertise in research and writing, we look forward to his perspective and counsel as we tackle historic preservation issues and tell the full stories that are vital to our country.”
