In this episode of the ACHP's podcast, Preservation Perspectives, Vice Chairman Rick Gonzalez speaks with Keena Graham, Superintendent of the the Medgar and Myrlie Evers Home National Monument in Jackson, MS. The home was recently declared a National Monument and Graham is in the process of preparing the home to welcome visitors and tell the story of the civil rights leaders.

The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's podcast, Preservation Perspectives, focused on the effort to create Julius Rosenwald and Rosenwald Schools National Historical Park in this episode, featuring Robert Stanton, former ACHP Expert Member, National Park Service Director and current Vice President of the Rosenwald Park Campaign.

A law was recently passed to require the National Park Service to conduct a special resource study, the first significant step toward creating the first national park to honor a Jewish American. Some of Rosenwald's greatest accomplishments center on his philanthropy that helped thousands of African American students, scholars, artists, writers, and others in the early part of the 20th century.

The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's podcast, Preservation Perspectives, focused on the African American history of Historic Natchez, Mississippi, in this episode, featuring Mimi Miller, Executive Director Emerita of Historic Natchez Foundation.

Miller talks about the slave trade in Natchez and the historic places associated with African American life in the town, including the Natchez National Cemetery, where many African Americans who fought in the Civil War were laid to rest. She also discusses the work being done to preserve these important places that tell the full story of our country.

November is Native American Heritage Month and ACHP Chairman Aimee Jorjani spoke with Reno Keoni Franklin, ACHP Native American member and Chairman of the Native American Affairs Committee on this episode of the ACHP podcast, Preservation Perspectives.
