The ACHP, in coordination with the Department of Army (Army), proposes a Program Comment for the Army’s inventory of historic housing constructed between 1963 and 1975 on Army installations nationwide.

A program comment is an alternative process the Army may use to comply with the requirements of Section 106 of the NHPA. The intent of this Program Comment is to address the Army’s NHPA compliance requirements for its nationwide inventory of more than 7,500 Vietnam War Era housing units. For the purposes of the Program Comment, the Army acknowledges that all Vietnam War Era housing units are historic properties. The ACHP will make a decision on this Program Comment at the Fall Business Meeting on October 26, 2022. 


Those interested in commenting on the proposed Program Comment may do so by filing their comments so they are received by the ACHP on or before Friday, September 30, 2022.
