Department of Veterans Affairs Liaison Position Vacancy at the ACHP

The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) is pleased to announce it is now accepting applications for the position of Program Analyst/Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Liaison (GG-13) within its Office of Federal Agency Programs (OFAP) in Washington, D.C. The principal duties of the position include advising VA on its efforts to reuse, modernize, and preserve important assets through the development of historic preservation policy and Section 106 case oversight.

The ACHP is an independent federal agency that advises the Administration and Congress on historic preservation matters and oversees the Section 106 review process established by the National Historic Preservation Act. OFAP works directly with agencies, states, Indian tribes, Native Hawaiian organizations, and preservation stakeholders to implement the Section 106 review process and pursue preservation program improvements. The successful applicant will serve as the ACHP’s liaison to VA, which owns more than 1,700 hospitals, clinics, community living centers, and other facilities, and operates 135 national cemeteries in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
