Home News Historic Preservation Month Photo Contest Closes with Fourth Week Winner
Congratulations to West Jackson (Mississippi), for submitting the fourth and final winning photo in the National Historic Preservation Month photo contest, sponsored by the ACHP, National Trust for Historic Preservation, and National Park Service. The photo is Jackson State University staff in front of the recently restored statue of James (Jim) Hill, one of the first African American statues built in Mississippi. Hill was a former slave, who eventually was elected Secretary of State in 1874.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the celebration of National Historic Preservation Month. Let's keep it going year-round and continue to share photos using #MyHistoricPlace and tagging us!
