Event Opportunities > Preserve America State and National History Teacher of the Year

Inaugurated in 2004, the History Teacher of the Year Award is designed to promote, celebrate, and honor the teaching of U.S. history in America's classrooms. The Gilder Lehrman Institute works with Preserve America and the White House to coordinate and present this annual award, which honors one outstanding K - 12 teacher from each state and U.S. territory. Awardees are listed here.

Some events or remarks might appropriately include or reference the winners of this honor, and thereby note the Preserve America initiative and its relationship to advancing a greater shared knowledge about our nation's past through our local schools.
